Reminiscences of Summer

Reminiscences of this summer will consist of a spontaneous weekend, when the warmth of the sunshine against my skin, the grainy sand beneath my feet, and the smell of the sweet candy floss air lingered for a mere moment, until the rain cried down her sad little tears – washing away any resemblance of a quaint summers afternoon. A comfortable car seat replaced the coarse sand, and we sailed down the road, with the boisterous breeze splattering our take-away coffees, whilst Fleetwood Mac entertained with repeats of Dreams and Gold Dust Woman. Beautiful compositions and caffeine propel thoughts of love, so I find myself staring at the handsome, ginger man driving the car, and my chest fills with a dull ache – a longing, a desperate need for time to stand still, so we can live out these simple moments forever.
